2 arrested in hit-and-run

Two Elizabethton residents were arrested Saturday morning after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 19E at Howard Lipford Road in Valley Forge.

Sgt. Derrick Hamm of the Carter County Sheriff’s Department said one of the vehicles involved in the crash, a red Chevrolet Silverado truck, left the scene toward Hampton. Hamm located the truck and conducted a traffic stop near the 19E double bridges between Valley Forge and Hampton.
