KINGSPORT — Mark your calendars. Chocolate Festival 2012 is quickly approaching. In just a few weeks participants can indulge in a day of chocolate treats, shopping and fun while fulfilling the dreams of local children with life-threatening medical conditions. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of East Tennessee will present Chocolate Festival 2012 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Marriott MeadowView Conference Center in Kingsport. The event is held in conjunction with the WKPT Radio/Holston Valley Broadcasting 50 Plus Expo. Festival ticket holders can enter the 50 Plus Expo for free.

Chocolate Festival is an exciting and entertaining event that provides ticket holders with bite-size samples of scrumptious chocolate desserts from over 25 local restaurants and businesses. Lava cakes from Dominos, chocolate covered strawberries and gourmet caramel apples from Amanda Hope-Grann’s Gourmet Apples, a variety of ice cream from Blue Bell Creameries, L.P. and Marble Slab, chocolate salsa and chips from Salsarita’s, doughnuts from Krispy Kreme and hot fudge ice cream cake from Shoney’s are just a few of the tasty treats that Festival goers will enjoy.

Tickets to the Chocolate Festival 2012 are $15 in advance and may be purchased online at www.wishetn.wish.org. Festival tickets are also available for purchase at First Tennessee Banks (NE TN branches), Kingsport Chamber of Commerce, Kingsport Town Center, Salsaritas in Kingsport, Sam’s Club Optical Department in Johnson City and Shoney’s in Johnson City, Kingsport or Bristol. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $20.

Attendees to the Festival will not only enjoy delicious bites of chocolate but can also have fun shopping at the silent auction during the event for a fantastic array of gifts including rounds of golf with green fees, carts and lunches at the Johnson City Country Club, two nights’ stay in the deluxe jacuzzi suite at Comfort Suites and a “Night of Indulgence” from the Carnegie Hotel which includes a night’s stay, couples massage and dinner at Wellington’s. Other great silent auction items include designer handbags and sunglasses, beautiful gift baskets, and gift certificates from Festival exhibitors and many more area businesses and restaurants.

All proceeds from the ticket sales and silent auction go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of East Tennessee to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
