Reelfoot Eagle Festival this weekend
UNION CITY (AP) — The manager of Reelfoot Lake State Park says the annual return of American bald eagles to northwest Tennessee has become one of the most exciting winter events in the state.
According to the Union City Daily Messenger, James Cox says this weekend’s eighth annual Eagle Festival offers several unique opportunities for the public to see eagles in their natural habitat.
Guided van and bus tours of eagle sites will be available Friday through Sunday. Raptor expert John Stokes will present a birds of prey program Saturday at the park visitors’ center.
Additionally, a steamboat exhibit will debut during the festival. There also will be a duck decoy painting contest.
