Legislative Breakfast set for March 2
The Elizabethton-Carter County Chamber of Commerce will host the 2012 Legislative Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, March 2 , at the Truman Clark Annex at the Carter County Health Department, 403 East G St., Elizabethton.
Citizens will have a chance to meet their federal, state and local government officials, including Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey, State Sen. Rusty Crowe and State Rep. Kent Williams, Carter County Mayor Leon Humphrey, Elizabethton Mayor Curt Alexander and Watauga Mayor Delisa LeFleur, and receive an update from each. Representatives from the offices of U.S. Senators Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker along with Congressman Phil Roe will be present as well. Attendees will have a chance to participate in a question and answer session with the legislators.
Breakfast will be served by East Tennessee State University Catering Service and will include scrambled eggs, French toast with maple syrup, hickory smoked bacon slices, hash brown casserole, muffins and fresh fruit salad.
Keith Young, director of Northeast State Community College Elizabethton campus, will serve as master of ceremonies. The Carter County Honor Guard will present the colors, and John Williams will sing the National Anthem.
“We are very blessed to have such strong, committed leaders in Carter County,” said Chamber Director Felicia English. “We appreciate their continued support and participation in the Legislative Breakfast each year.”
Tickets may be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce, located at 500 Veterans Memorial Parkway (Highway 19E) at a cost of $14. There is limited seating, so reserve tickets early.
