Roe files papers to run again
JONESBOROUGH — U.S. Congressman Phil Roe filed his papers Monday at the Washington County Election Commission Office in Jonesborough to run for his first district seat once again this year.
“When I first started running, I said I’d serve 10 to 12 years,” said Roe. “I’m a term limit person. I think there ought to be two terms in the Senate, probably 12 in the House.”
Today was the first day candidates could pick up qualifying petitions. No word yet on who may be running against Roe for either party.
Primary candidates must file their nominating petitions no later than noon on April 5.
