Siam Baptist Church, 2414 Siam Road, Elizabethton, has elected Rev. Tyler Eiland as its new pastor. Eiland and his family recently moved to Elizabethton to take up his new role as pastor. Originally from Clanton, Ala., he graduated from Samford University with a bachelor of arts in religion. His wife, Jennifer, from Birmingham, Ala., also graduated from Samford with a degree in music education. Pastor Eiland attended seminary at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary extension in Auburn, Ala., and graduated with a Master of Divinity from the Billy Graham School of Missions, Evangelism and Church Growth. While in Auburn, he also interned at Lakeview Baptist Church. After finishing seminary, the Eilands served two years as missionaries in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. The couple have two children, Hope and Sophia. They were welcomed to Siam Baptist Church on Sunday, Jan. 22, with a Tennessee Volunteer party.
