Out-of-town daughter thankful for care mother received

By

Editor:

Greetings my Elizabethton friends and family. Perhaps we met as I enjoyed this Tennessee winter, visiting from Northern Michigan. What a refreshing change from the five snowstorms I passed through to get here.

Mother, at age 81, fell and became a temporary resident of Life Care Center of Elizabethton. It’s very hard to be an adult child living so far away to assist, but let me assure you, her stay and rehabilitation at Life Care strengthened her and reassured me that they are an extremely loving group.

The nursing staff, the wonderful Dr. Clark, physical therapist and occupational therapist all worked diligently to get Mother mobile once again. The many new friends I’ve met during my daily visits reassures me that if an emergency occurs again I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Life Care and their extremely competent staff. Everyone from the dietary department to housekeeping made my mother comfortable and welcome. I thank you sincerely. Little Bit is now doing well at home.

I stayed busy during my six weeks in Elizabethton. Daily trips to the library, shopping for bargains, talking to all who would listen. I’ve eaten my weight in “baby shrimp” from the Mayflower, “steak nachos” from Amigo, and bought an exciting new ring from Johnnie at the Jeweler’s Bench.

So, thank you, Elizabethton, for the southern hospitality.

Until we meet again,

Debra Barker

Marion, Mich.
