Pastor Raymond Amos’s sermon for the Sunday morning service Feb. 19 at First United Methodist Church will be “What Just Happened” based on Mark 9: 2-9. “This is Transfiguration Sunday and the text takes us to a mountain top with Peter, James and John to see the true glory of God unveiled. The light of His glory radiated from within Him so that His clothes dazzled with a brightness that could have only come from Heaven. Although those disciples experienced that Holy moment, they were forbidden to tell it until after the resurrection of Jesus. There are things both good and bad, that we, too, experience but will not understand until the light of the resurrected Christ is unveiled in our hearts,” said Rev. Amos in explaining his sermon title.
