Kingsport restaurants will host ‘Community Day’ for Small Miracles

By

Doing something good for your community is going to be a piece of cake — or a piece of grilled salmon — or a bowl of gumbo — whatever your preference may be. On Monday, Feb. 27, a significant percentage of sales from lunch and dinner (11 a.m. until closing) at Riverfront Seafood Co. and Saltwater Willy’s Bayou Café will be donated to Small Miracles Therapeutic Equestrian Center. The public is invited to come eat and contribute to a good cause.

Local seafood guru Wayne Michelli, owner of Riverfront Seafood Co. and Saltwater Willy’s, has announced that he is giving back to the community by donating 20 percent of his restaurant proceeds to a United Way agency on designated “Community Days.”

“Thanks to the generosity of Wayne and Angie Michelli, the donations received for this event will provide direct support for Small Miracles,” said Mary Smith, founder of Small Miracles.

On Feb. 27, eating good means doing good for Small Miracles. Patrons will have an opportunity to learn more about Small Miracles and ways they can help support the organization. Small Miracles is a nonprofit, Christian-based organization founded through love to enhance the physical, emotional, social and cognitive growth of individuals with special needs through equine-assisted activities.

Riverfront Seafood Co. is located at 1777 Netherland Inn Road, Kingsport, and Saltwater Willy’s at 121 Jack White Drive, Kingsport. Visit riverfrontseafood.net and/or saltwaterwillysbayoucafe.com to learn more about these restaurants and to view their menus. In addition to a percentage of the meal proceeds, a percentage of gift cards sales for the day will also be donated to Small Miracles. Gift cards are a thoughtful gift for family members, friends and business associates — whatever the occasion.

Take a night off from cooking and have dinner at either restaurant. You’ll help make life-changing impacts on the lives of Small Miracles’ students. Tax-deductible donations would be greatly appreciated and can be made directly to Small Miracles. For more information about this wonderful way to support your community, call Mary Smith at 384-0894 or email her at marypsmith@charter.net.
