Three-shot edge for Sangid at E.T. Amateur

Former winner Bryan Sangid put up a 64 Friday to lead Carlson Cox by three strokes after first-round play at the Carter County Bank East Tennessee Amateur Golf Tournament at Elizabethton Golf Course.
Lucas Armstrong came in with a 68 while this year’s Tillinghast winner Craig Reasor is five strokes back after shooting a 69. Brandon Worley also came through with a 69.
Former Hampton High standout Chris Guy came through with a round of 70 and former Elizabethton High star Taylor Gouge and Nick Cohen are seven back with a 71.
Sangid won this event in 2004, and nine years later he is the man to beat again.
In the Seniors 50-54, Dwight Scott shot a 67 to lead with Mike Poe leading the 55-59 seniors with a 69 and Eddie Bailey heads up the 60 and over seniors with a 76.
