RM Free Holiness
The Roan Mountain Free Holiness Church will host the Montgomery Family of Johnson City for a special song service Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

Brent Nidiffer, minister, and Carolyn Estep will present a special musical duet for the morning worship service Sunday at First Christian Church of Elizabethton. The service will begin at 9:45 a.m.
Following morning worship, Sunday School will be held.
Sunday is Pantry Sunday and everyone is encouraged to bring food items for the church’s benevolent program.
The evening service will be held at 6 p.m.

First Church of the Nazarene
The Elizabethton First Church of the Nazarene will have a mission zone rally Friday evening at 7 o’clock. Missionaries Stephan and Brenda Heap of Brazil will speak at the rally.
Refreshments will be served following the service.
Vacation Bible School will be held July 29-Aug. 2. Classes will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. each evening for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.
The theme of the Bible school will be “Son Quest Rainforest.”

“It’s Not What You Ask, It’s Who You Ask” is the title of Sunday’s morning worship sermon at First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton. The scripture text is Luke 11: 1-13.

First Presbyterian Church of Elizabethton celebrates “It’s More Light Sunday,” as the church celebrates its status as a welcoming and affirming church.
The Adult Forum will feature a panel of LGBT members, friends and allies who will talk about the importance of being a part of a welcoming and affirming church. The Adult Forum begins at 9:45 a.m. in Martin Hall.
“Sing A New Song” is the theme for the 11 a.m. worship theme, which is also the 2013 More Light Presbyterian theme. The Rev. Dr. Donald M. Steele will lead the worship service. Special musical guests will include local favorites The Squash Blossoms.
The service will include a special offering to help More Light Presbyterians continue their work in building a welcoming and affirming network of Presbyterians across the country.
Following the service, a “rainbow reception” will be held in Martin Hall, featuring light refreshments and fellowship.

Hampton First Baptist
Hampton First Baptist Church will host a youth concert for area church Saturday, June 27, at 7 p.m. in the field behind the Dollar General Store under a large tent on First Avenue.
The concert will begin with the God Rod Team from Beck Mountain Baptist Church. The concert will be headlined by the Oak Street Band from Oak Street Baptist Church with a special guest appearance by John Colbaugh of Riverview Baptist Church. Colbaugh sings with the group Joyful Noise.

Phillippi Baptist Church will have a Celebration of Hats Sunday, July 28, in a service at 3:30 p.m., which will feature the Word, nusic, and of course, hats.
There will be a judging of hats for the most unique, most unusual, and the prettiest.
The guest speaker for the event will be the Rev. Dr. Jeanette Greene of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
