JOHNSON CITY — Cloudland rallied back from a 10-point deficit in the first half. However, the Highlanders were unable to overcome a “Taylor made” effort.
The ’Landers were unable to answer a late Jr. Buc run, including 11 points from Marcus Taylor, as they fell 57-49 to University High inside Brooks Gym on Friday night.
In the girls’ game, Cloudland pulled away in the third quarter to take a 54-40 victory over the Lady Jr. Bucs.
For the Cloudland boys, they were unable to answer a late punch by the Jr. Bucs after shrugging off a slow start.

It was a tale of two halves for the Lady ’Landers as they used a defensive third quarter to escape Brooks Gym with a 54-40 victory over University High.
“We weren’t very sharp early,” Cloudland coach Matt Birchfield said. “I thought we played better in the third quarter. We got some steals and got a big lead. We just have to be more ready to play.”
In the opening minutes, the Lady ’Landers had their hands full with a pesky UH squad.
