Academy posts schedule for ‘Nutcracker’ auditions

The East Tennessee Ballet Academy will hold auditions for its holiday production of “The Nutcracker” on Saturday, Sept. 8.

These auditions will decide placement of talented young people in the roles available in this holiday favorite.

Performance dates for the production are Nov. 30 and Dec. 1-2 at the Gregory Center for the Arts on the campus of Milligan College.

The audition times on Sept. 8 are set for:

10 a.m. for ages 5 to 6;

11 a.m. for ages 7 to 9;

Noon for ages 10 to 11;

and 1 p.m. for ages 12 and up. These auditioners are asked to please bring pointe shoes.

In addition, boys only can audition at 5 p.m. for roles as soldiers and Russians in “The Nutcracker.”

The East Tennessee Ballet Academy is located at 312 E. Elk Ave., Elizabethton.
