Elizabethton’s Danielle Loving and Johnson County’s Ashley Arnold were selected as co-player of the year by the Elizabethton Star sportswriters. And the numbers they put up were phenomenal.
Loving did it with the bat while Arnold’s defensive numbers were mind-boggling in addition to her hefty batting average.
’Betsy’s junior standout Loving batted .491 with 13 doubles, 12 homers and a remarkable 54 RBIs. She’ll likely see several college offers coming her way before the 2014 season rolls around.
Arnold’s fielding percentage (.989) and a whopping .470 batting average made it impossible to leave her off. The slick-fielding second baseman made only two errors in 108 chances. She will play at Milligan College next fall.
