Elizabethton Police officers confer with Chief Matt Bailey during a brief standoff Monday afternoon at an East H Street residence. The man was taken into custody about 4:30 p.m. and a weapon was removed from the home. More details about the incident are expected to be released today.
Armed officers in protective gear managed to remove a weapon from an Elizabethton man late Monday afternoon.
Numerous Elizabethton Police Department officers swarmed an East H Street residence on Monday between 4 and 5 p.m. on the report of an armed subject inside the home. Police cruisers with flashing lights blocked East H Street between Cedar Avenue and Holston Avenue for about a half-hour.
