PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — Police say assailants threw three grenades inside a cinema in northwest Pakistan, killing at least 10 people.
Police officer Kamal Khan says initial reports show one grenade struck the main door, then the attackers threw two more inside the theater.
He says about 80 people were watching the movie at Shama cinema when Tuesday’s attack occurred in Peshawar.
Khan gave the death toll and says more than 20 people also were wounded.
No one claimed responsibility for the attacks, which come days after Pakistan began a peace process with the Taliban to end the violence that has killed more than 40,000 people in recent years.
