Tailgating on the hill overlooking Paul McEwen Stadium has become a tradition for many Johnson County football fans. Just like the rivalry once was between the Highlanders and Longhorns on the gridiron.
For the first time since 2010, the pair will renew old acquaintances tonight in what should be a dandy in Mountain City. Cloudland won the last meeting 28-26 in 2010 while the Longhorns took a 47-27 victory in 2009. It had been more than a decade at that point since the two schools had met.
Cloudland enters the contest 3-0, ranked 7th in the Class 1-A poll. The Longhorns (1-1) knocked off talented Grayson County 26-10 last week in their home opener.
