River of Life Freewill Baptist Church will host a benefit singing for Aaliyah “Jelly Bean” Outerbridge, at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 30.
From birth, Aaliyah has battled with many health problems including a diagnosis of Tuberous Sclerosis. She has also had 31 tumors in her brain.
Although the tumors are not considered cancerous, St. Jude Children’s Hospital has agreed to treat her and has expressed a positive view on the outcome of the treatment. However, payment for treatment is required upfront and Aaliyah’s family must bear the travel expenses.
Performing for the benefit will be Sounds of Victory, Brotherhood and Larry Wright.
The public is invited for an evening of good Southern gospel music and worship as they attempt to help meet the expenses facing this young girl’s family.
If you cannot attend but would like to make a monetary donation, mail to: Jelly Bean, c/o Sounds of Victory, 209 Long Hollow Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643. Please make checks payable to “Sounds of Victory,” and the band will make sure the funds get to the family.
The church is located at 819 Austin Springs Road, Piney Flats.
