As Grand Champions for the inaugural Admiral’s Cup Invitational, Betsy’s senior band members went on the field during the awards ceremony to receive a “traveling” trophy. The trophy will be given to a new champion each year.

The event was held on the grounds of Farragut High School in Knoxville.

Betsy’s “Wright to the Moon” fall marching performance captured first in Class AAAA for First Place Band, Large Division High Overall Effect and Large Division Champion as well as the Admiral’s Cup.

The competition pitted the band against much larger schools, including Johnson City’s Science Hill, Cleveland’s Walker Valley High School Marching Band, the Rhea County Golden Eagle band from Evensville and Seymour’s Seymour High.

Throughout the blustery, cool day, bands from 13 high schools had filled the stadium with sounds of groups such as K.C and the Sunshine Band, the Bee Gees, Fun and Queen.
