Betsy Bash will have 1950s theme

Downtown Elizabethton will provide the backdrop for a 1950s fall festival when the first Betsy Bash is held on Sat., Oct. 27. Classic cars will line the streets, the smell of fresh-baked apple pie will fill the air and poodle skirts will be an essential part of the wardrobe for the day.
Members of the Elizabethton Downtown Business Association have been planning for the upcoming fall festival for the past few months. The festival is the first the DBA has organized. The group took over the planning of the former Octoberfest after the Chamber of Commerce decided to end that festival because it was losing revenue.
