The Elizabethton Board of Education voted to extend its contract with the Memphis-based law firm of Jackson, Shields, Yeiser and Holt on a 3-2 vote during the Thursday night meeting. They also voted to move ahead with two capital projects for schools in the system.
The Elizabethton City Schools administration team presented the board with a recommendation to extend the contract with the firm. The system largely works with attorney Stephen Shields. Director of Schools Ed Alexander commented that the firm was “honest, reliable and responsive.” He said they answered all inquiries quickly when contacted.
