Bobby Vernon Echols

Bobby Vernon Echols, 71, of Jonesborough, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Echols was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Clarence and Tina Halls Echols.
Mr. Echols was a truck driver, retiring in 1999 after 30 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Jean Percell Echols, Jonesborough; two daughters, Janet Sue Ottinger, Johnson City, and Bobbie Mary Grapes and husband Paul, Elkin, Md.; a son, Bobby Jeffery Echols; two step-daughters, Judy Ann Willis (Donald), Jonesborough, and Lisa Kay Buckingham (Cliff McCrary), Greeneville; a step-son, Jeffery Allen Buckingham; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Rich (Burt), Fayetteville, Tenn., and Shelby Siller of Kentucky; a brother, James “Jim” Echols (Judy) of Texas; and several nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, in the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Paul Grapes officiating. Interment services will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Willis, Dalton Willis, Claude Percell, Dale Deakins, Kermit Deakins and Dan Deakins. Condolences may be sent to the Echols family online at www.dillow-taylor.com.
