Booher to chair city’s school board

Rita Booher will chair the Elizabethton Board of Education after her re-election on Nov. 6.

Before the board could proceed with scheduled business in its first meeting since the election that also seated two new members, a new chair and vice-chair had to be elected.

Board member Phil Isaacs nominated Booher for the position of chair, and Connie Baker nominated Catherine Armstrong.
