Buccaneers lose after making furious rally

osh Williams maintained Lipscomb’s offensive surge. J.C. Hampton added the final dagger.
Lipscomb and its talented freshman duo stood tallest at the end.

A career-high 34 points from Williams was capped by Hampton’s jumper with 3.6 seconds remaining to squash East Tennessee State’s comeback attempt with a 82-80 Atlantic Sun victory Thursday at MSHA Athletic Center.

“I didn’t know what kind of shot we were going to get at the end,” said Lipscomb coach Casey Alexander. “I was glad we were able to hold it and do what we called and execute it.”
The host Buccaneers, which trailed the majority of the game, fought from a double-digit deficit in the closing minutes with a fast and furious flurry of defense and treys from Rashawn Rembert and Jalen Riley.
