The long shots opened up an early wound, while the points in the paint caused a knockdown. The finishing touch came in transition buckets as Milligan College continued its hot streak in Appalachian Athletic Conference play with an 88-65 knockout of Bryan College in men’s basketball.
Junior guard Mickey Woods scored a game-high 21 points to lead five Buffaloes in double figure scoring. The opening salvo was fired by sophomore guard Kurt Brooks, who dropped three treys on the Lions as Milligan opened a 17-2 early advantage.
“The second half at Bryan was when we decided that this was how we have to play — especially defensively,” said Buffaloes head coach Bill Robinson. “Our tempo has been the reason we have been so successful lately. We played so many away games early in the season, we knew that if we were not feeling totally defeated that when we got our stretch of games at home that we would be able to make a run.”
