Ye were of little Faith if you thought Milligan College would fold to the undermanned College of Faith on Wednesday night at Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
The Buffs used a 12-2 run late in the first half to build a 36-25 halftime lead and toppled the Warriors 79-47 in a non-conference clash on Wednesday night.
Only seven players dressed for the school from West Memphis, Ark., while Milligan was able to nearly double that number of players who took to the court — with junior guard Mickey Woods leading the way with 19 points.
The Lady Buffaloes (7-3 overall, 4-1 Appalachian Athletic Conference) stormed to a 51-28 halftime lead behind 13 first-half points from sophomore post Allison Jones for Milligan’s fourth straight conference win.
“Coming off the loss to St. Catharine we realized it was because we let up on defense,” Jones said. “We have worked really hard in practice on that and we knew we couldn’t let that happen tonight. I think we were fired up today and didn’t want to slack off at all.”
