Bulldogs have way with CHS

It was a high-speed chase — and the Bulldogs proved to be just fast enough to make the escape.
Hampton racked in nine stolen bases and used a staunch 1-2 punch on the mound from Chris Wells and Jeffrey Hughis to pull away with a 11-1 decision over Cloudland during both squads’ season opener on a chilly Thursday evening in Bulldog country.
Wells (3 1/2 IP, 4 Ks) recorded the win on the mound for the Bulldogs after keeping the Highlanders in check by throwing a one-hitter.
