Busy holiday season planned for downtown

With the holiday season approaching, Elizabethton downtown will be extra busy as multiple activities are planned for the next few months.

The Downtown Business Association discussed these events and other business during its meeting Thursday night.

The first planned event is the Betsy Bash Saturday, Oct. 27. Members of the DBA have been planning several months for the upcoming fall festival, which is a first for the group. The merchants took over the planning of the former Octoberfest when the Chamber of Commerce decided to end it due to a loss of revenue.
