Cancer center manager pleads guilty to receiving misbranded drugs

A business manager at a Johnson City cancer center that serves hundreds of patients throughout the region, including Carter County, pleaded guilty to receiving misbranded drugs in violation of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.

Michael Dean Combs, 32, of Piney Flats, entered his plea in U.S. District Court, Greenville, Wednesday. Sentencing is set for April 1, 2013.

In exchange for his plea, the court agreed not to further prosecute the defendant for any other non-tax criminal offenses committed relative to the charges.
