Cards push Twins’ losing streak to six


JOHNSON CITY — The losing streak at last ended for Johnson City.
The skid continued for Elizabethton.
Dropping its sixth straight, the Twins went down 3-1 at Thomas Stadium in Appalachian League action on Friday night. Elizabethton, defending Appy League champion, is six games out of first place in the West Division.
The Cardinals had lost seven in a row.
Elizabethton’s Hein Robb hurled 71⁄3 innings, before the second rain delay — which lasted 61 minutes — set in. The left-hander was touched for eight hits, allowed three earned runs and struck out eight with one walk.

JOHNSON CITY — The Twins emphatically broke their losing streak behind seven strong innings from Randy Rosario (3-2) and three Cardinal Park doubles out of Bryan Haar (3-for-5).
