Carter County Christmas parade nets $900 for local United Way

The 2012 Carter County Christmas parade raised $900 for the 2013 Elizabethton/Carter County United Way campaign.

Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce Director Tonya Stevens presented United Way Director Debbie Guy with the check Thursday afternoon for the parade proceeds beyond the Chamber’s expenses. The Chamber decided to donate all proceeds from the parade to the United Way this year.

Guy said the $900 would be placed toward the 2013 campaign goal of $182,000. The United Way has raised about 20 percent of the campaign goal.
