Cash Express fielded a team and served as a sponsor for Carter County Relay for Life. This year was the first time that Cash Express participated in the annual benefit. The staff at Cash Express worked hard to raise money for the American Cancer Society and staged a fun festival on May 12 that featured about 30 venders and more than 50 sponsors. Most donated prizes and giveaways, but a few made cash donations. The Elizabethton Elks Lodge gave a $250 donation, which was the largest cash donation received by the Cash Express Relay team. Cash Express representatives recently traveled to the Elks Lodge to thank the organization for its donation, which helped Cash Express exceed $1,000 in money raised for the ACS. Pictured are Rex Johnson, Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge; Ashley Jenkins, manager at Cash Express; Ken Swift, Elks Lodge member; and Linda Shupe, assistant manager at Cash Express. The grand total raised by the May Festival was $1,141 for Relay for Life and the ACS. Cash Express staff said they were very happy to do their part in the community and be involved with a great cause.
