Central residents appear before planning commission about sale of fighting roosters
Residents in the Central Community appeared before the Carter County Planning and Zoning Commission Tuesday afternoon to discuss an ongoing dispute with a fellow property owner.
Betty Grindstaff of Plazz Avenue told the members that she and some of her neighbors have been attempting to resolve an issue with the raising and selling of fighting roosters next to their homes. She explained that the previous owner of the property in question—the late Bill Baumgartner—also raised the roosters prior to his death, but was grandfathered in and received an exception when new zoning rules were put into place.
