Chamber sets three-day tree ‘Collecting of the Green’

Now that the presents are unwrapped and the stockings unstuffed, it’s time to start taking down the decorations and clearing out the old Christmas trees.

The Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce will collect old Christmas trees from Jan. 6 through Jan. 8 in the Chamber’s parking lot.

Trees gathered in the “Collecting of the Green” are used by the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency to build fish habitats in Watauga Lake.
