Borderview Christian Church will host its 23rd annual God and Country Day on Sunday, July 1. All veterans are welcome.
This year’s celebration will include a musical, “Stars and Stripes Forever.”
The day gets underway with Bible School classes for all ages at 10 a.m.
During the morning worship service at 10:45 a.m. the Adult Choir will present its patriotic musical and veteran recognition will be held.
A Community Block Party will begin at 5 p.m. with a free supper of barbecue and hotdogs planned for 6 p.m. Ice cream sundaes will be served for dessert at 7 p.m.
A gospel concert featuring Greg Odom and Sacred Harmony will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Spectacular fireworks at dusk will conclude the annual event.
In addition, Borderview will sponsor God and Country Night at the Elizabethton Twins game at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, at Riverside Park.

The Teens at New Liberty Freewill Baptist Church will host a benefit car wash on Saturday, June 30.

Vacation Bible School will be held at Freedom Fellowship Church Monday, July 2, through Friday, July 6.
The theme for VBS is “Flying High with Jesus.” Classes will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each day.

“I Will Hope in Him” will be the theme of the morning worship message Sunday, July 1, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Johnson City. The sermon text is Lamentations 3: 22-33. Worship services will be held at 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Holy Communion will be served at both services.
Sunday School and Bible study will be held at 9:15 a.m.
Interpreted services for the deaf are available on the second and fourth Sundays at the 10:45 a.m. service.

The Maggie Kyte Circle of Oak Grove Christian Church will host a bake sale on Saturday, June 30, in the church fellowship hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All proceeds will go to support missions.

Fairview United Methodist
The multi-award winning family group, the Hoppers, and soloist Kirk Talley will be in concert on Saturday, July 28, at Fairview United Methodist Church, 2508 Old Niles Ferry Road, Maryville, at 7 p.m. The Faithful Men of Fairview (a male choral group) sponsor an annual concert to raise funds for their biannual mission trip to India. All the proceeds from the concert will go to that cause.
The Hoppers have often been called “America’s Favorite Family Gospel Group” and Kirk Talley has won every award that gospel music has to offer to soloists and songwriters including a Dove award and a Grammy nomination. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear great gospel music and support a great cause. Tickets are $20 in advance and $22 at the door.

First Presbyterian Church of Elizabethton will hold the Adult Forum and Sunday School beginning at 9:45 a.m. The Adult Forum will host a panel in recognition of More Light Sunday. The four-person panel will consist of FPCE members and friends sharing their personal experience of LGBT issues in relation to their faith. There will be opportunity for questions from the floor. “Christ’s Power for Christ’s People” will be the theme for the message at the 10:45 a.m. worship service on Sunday, July 1, at Memorial Presbyterian Church (PCA). The Scripture text is Acts 9:32-43. The service will conclude with the monthly celebration of the Lord’s Supper.
The Chancel Choir will sing “This Little Light of Mine” arranged by Howard Helvey and the Worship Team will lead the congregation in singing modern worship songs.
A Nursery and Children’s Small Talk are provided during the morning service. Children will remain in the worship service for Communion Sunday.
