First United Methodist

The sermon “The Boundless Touch of Christ” will be presented at the Sunday morning worship service at First United Methodist Church. The scripture text is Mark 7: 24-37.

The service will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a brief fellowship time.

Sunday school will begin at 11:20 a.m.

The Men’s Prayer Group will meet at 9 a.m. in Room 108.

The Sunday evening Bible study will be held at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Wednesday evening prayer and worship service will be held at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

Upper Gap Creek FWB

Revival will begin Monday at the Upper Gap Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 1380 Gap Creek Road. Services will begin at 7 p.m.

The evangelist will be the Rev. Terry Jones, Pastor of Keystone Free Will Baptist Church, Johnson City.

Special singing will be presented at each service. The schedule is as follows: Monday, Keystone Singers; Tuesday, Melissa Hall; Wednesday, Keystone Choir; Thursday, Julie Keller and Shon Blevins; and Friday, Nathan Salyers.

Hampton Christian

Hampton Christian Church, 810 Deerfield Lane, Hampton, will hold a weekend of praise and worship, Sept. 7-9, with Evangelist Ernie Depew.

Friday, which is designated Youth Night, will feature free hotdogs, chips and drinks, inflatables and games, live music from Soul Obsession and a message on “A Heart for the Lord in the Days of Our Youth” presented by Depew.

Saturday will be Old Fashioned Night featuring Third Day Resurrection, beginning at 6 p.m., will feature the message, “The Necessity of Biblical Faith.”

Homecoming will be celebrated Sunday, beginning at 10:45 a.m. Depew will present the message, “When We Gather Together.”

Homecoming lunch will be served at 1 p.m.

Elk Park Christian

Thankful Hearts will be in concert Saturday, Sept. 9, at 6 p.m. at the Elk Park Christian Church.

A cookout will be held at 5 p.m.

Unaka Baptist

The monthly Brotherhood Breakfast at Unaka Baptist Church will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, from 7 to 10 a.m. A $6 donation will be appreciated.

First Presbyterian

“Happiness and Justice for All” will be the theme for the Sunday morning worship service Sept. 9 at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton. The service will begin at 11 a.m.

Following morning worship, dinner on the grounds will be served at noon. All are invited to attend and bring a family-sized dish of food to share. Weather permitting, the dinner will be outside. If not, the dinner will be held inside in Martin Hall, lower level, E Street entrance.

Pierce Baptist

Homecoming will be held Sunday, Sept. 9, at Pierce Baptist Church, Butler. Sunday school will be held at 10 a.m., morning worship at 11 a.m., followed by lunch.

Revival will begin Sunday at the Butler Park and continue through Sept. 14, with services at 7 p.m.

A different speaker will be featured at each service.

Bethlehem Lutheran

“Your God Will Come” is the sermon theme for the Sunday, Sept. 9 morning worship services at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 201 E. Watauga Ave., Johnson City. The sermon text is Isaiah 35: 4-7.

Services will begin at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Holy communion will be served at both services.

East River Park Christian Church will celebrate its 44th anniversary Sunday, Sept. 9.

Dr. Robert Ford of Kentucky Christian University will be the guest speaker at the morning worship service, which will begin at 10:45 a.m. Sunday school will begin at 9:45 a.m.

Following morning worship, a covered dish lunch and time of fellowship will be held at the church pavilion.

The Wednesday service will begin at 7 p.m. and includes adult Bible study, youth groups and classes for children nursery-age through fifth grade.

Junior high girls will have a lock-in from 9 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday.

Lynn Valley

Revival will begin Sunday, Sept. 9, at the Pilgrim Baptist Church, Highway 19E, Elk Park, N.C.

Unicoi Church of God

The Unicoi Church of God will celebrate its 80th anniversary and homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 16.

Richard Blackburn, a former pastor, will be the guest speaker for the 10.45 a.m. service.

First Christian

Minister Brent Nidiffer will preach Sunday at morning worship at First Christian Church.

The election of elders and deacons will be held Sunday. Members are asked to turn their ballots in at either the morning or evening service.

Following the evening service at 6 p.m., the church board will meet in the Men’s Classroom.

The Ladies Bible Study will meet at 10 a.m. Monday in the Fidelis Classroom.

Morning prayer will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary.

Bible study for adults will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Men’s Classroom. There will also be classes for children and youth.

The Winsome Class dinner will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at The Captain’s Table. The Fidelis Class dinner meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
