Borderview Christian
The Adult Choir Ministry of Borderview Christian Church will present the musical “Under God” Sunday, June 30, at the 10:45 a.m. service. There will be special recognition and a gift for all veterans present.

This stirring service of both God and Country features not only the adult choir, but “A Few Good Men,” (the men’s chorus), and Terry Rice, soloist. There will also be a moving video presentation.

The God and Country celebration continues with a community block party with inflatables for kids at 5 p.m. followed by a free barbecue or hotdogs at 6 p.m. and ice cream sundaes for dessert at 7 p.m.

A gospel concert featuring Joyful Noise will be held at 7:30 p.m. and a fireworks display will be held at dusk.

Borderview will also sponsor God and Country Night at the Elizabethton Twins game Wednesday, July 3, at 7 p.m.

Ken Overdorf is serving the church as interim minister and Andrew Norman is the associate minister.

Riverview Baptist
Three Bridges will present special singing Sunday at the 11 a.m. service at Riverview Baptist Church, Erwin.

A few of the songs they will perform include “Feel A Little Song Coming On,” “In The Valley There’s A Rock,” and “I Get To.”

The group has appeared on Bill Gaither’s Homecoming Videos.

First Baptist
First Baptist Church of Elizabethton invites the public to worship with the congregation this Sunday morning. Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m. A morning worship service, featuring a blend of contemporary worship songs and traditional hymns will follow, beginning at 10:45 a.m.

Dr. Earl Davis, interim pastor, will bring this week’s sermon, “The Reality of Hell,” a message that offers a sensible approach to the reality and concept of Hell, based on scripture from Matthew 25:31-46.

Each Sunday evening service this summer will feature the church’s praise band, some of the musical talents of the congregation and an emphasis on involving our children and youth in the service.

Dr. Earl Davis, interim pastor, will also bring a short message at each evening service.

This Sunday, Dr. Davis will begin his “Scenes From the Supernatural” series with a message on “Reincarnation and John the Baptist.” The evening’s service will also feature a special organ and piano program.

The one-hour family-friendly services begin at 6 p.m. each Sunday evening. A nursery is available.

Happy Valley Baptist
Vacation Bible School will be held at Happy Valley Baptist Church June 23-26 with classes each evening from 6:30 to 8 o’clock.

First United Methodist.

The sermon “On The Road Again” based on I Kings 19: 1-15 will be featured Sunday at the morning worship service at First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton.

The service will begin at 10 a.m. after which there will be a brief fellowship time. Sunday School will begin at 11:20 a.m.

The Men’s Prayer Group will meet at 9 a.m. in Room 108. The Sunday evening Bible study will be held at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

The Abiding Love Bible Study group will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the fellowship classroom.

The Wednesday evening service will be held at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary.

First Christian
The children will share music from Vacation Bible School during the morning worship service at 9:45 a.m. Sunday at First Christian Church of Elizabethton. The message will be presented by Minister Brent Nidiffer.

Sunday is Pantry Sunday and everyone is encouraged to bring an item for the pantry. This month the item to bring is canned fruit.

At 4:30 p.m. the Youth Committee will meet in the youth loft for a planning session.

The Ladies Bible Study Group will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Fidelis Classroom.

Morning Prayer will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the sanctuary.

Bible study classes will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday for all ages. Choir practice will follow at 8 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Gap Creek Christian

A one-day Vacation Bible School will be held at the Gap Creek Christian Church Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The theme for the day is “Odyssey in Space.” There will be classes for all ages.

Activities will include Bible stories, crafts, music, inflatables, games and lots more. Lunch will be served.

Friendship FWB
Revival services will begin June 28 at the Friendship Free Will Baptist Church in Hampton. Services June 28 and 29 will begin at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The evangelist will be the Rev. Kenneth Grindstaff. The Freeman Family will sing the opening night of the revival and the Gospel Two will sing June 29. Sunday morning, June 30, the Friendship Choir will sing. The Rich Acres Choir will sing Sunday night.

Bethlehem Lutheran
“What Has God Done For You” based on Luke 8: 26-39 will be the theme of the message for the worship service Sunday morning at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 201 E. Watauga Ave., Johnson City.

Morning worship will be held at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Communion will be served at both services.

Sunday School and Bible study will be held at 9:15 a.m.

Interpreted services for the deaf are available on the second and fourth Sunday at the 10:45 a.m. service.

First Presbyterian
The Membership Team will host the June Sunday Social on Sunday, June 16, after morning worship.

Adult Forum and Sunday School will be held at 9:45 a.m. followed by morning worship at 11 a.m. The worship service will be led by the Rev. Rich Fifield.

The Religion for Life radio broadcast will be at 2 p.m. over WETS-FM. The Rev. John A. Shuck will have as his guest, Lloyd Gerring: From the Big Bang to God.

The Science and Spirit Study Group will meet at 7 p.m. at which time the Wheel of the Year Celebration: Summer Solstice will be held.

Valley Forge Christian
Vacation Bible School will be held June 24-28 at Valley Forge Christian Church with classes daily from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The Bible school theme is “Camp VBS: TakeTen.”

Upper Gap Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 1380 Dry Creek Road, will have Vacation Bible School June 24-27 with classes nightly from 6:30 to 8:30.
The theme of the VBS is “Colossal Coaster World.”

There will be classes for children ages one through 14. Activities will include Bible study, crafts, music, recreation and refreshments. Family Night will be held on Thursday, June 27.

Pinecrest Baptist
Pinecrest Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School June 23-27 with classes nightly from 6 to 8:45.
