First Presbyterian Church in Elizabethton will host its annual Ten Thousand Villages Sale Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 10-11.
Ten Thousand Villages, a nonprofit program of the Mennonite Ten Thousand Villages, a nonprofit program of the Mennonite Central Committee, provides fair income to Third World communities by marketing their handicrafts and telling their stories in North America.
This income helps the artisans pay for food, education, health care and housing. All proceeds from this annual event go back to Ten Thousand Villages.
The Ten Thousand Villages Sale is also an opportunity to buy high-quality, hand-made, unique gifts, often from reclaimed materials (also known as “up-cycling”) or sustainably harvested resources. New items are added every year to the offerings at the Ten Thousand Villages Sale, so those who havw shopped in years past will see items you’ve not seen before.
Sale hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Check out the Peacemaking Page of www.FPCelizabethton.org for more information, or call the church at 543-7737.
