Teachers and administrators in the Elizabethton City School system prepared for the upcoming school year by sharing encouraging words and recounting last year’s successes during an inservice session Monday morning.
Director of Early Learning Center, Attendance, Testing and Data Services Ed Pless congratulated the teachers on achieving good results on last year’s test scores and meeting 10 of 11 objectives the state had set for the public school systems.
Pless said the only area that was missed was a new objective that had been added the past year.
“We had so much growth in that area last year that it would have been hard to hit it again,” Pless said. “It is extremely hard for a school system that does as well as we do to maintain the growth each year because the room for growth continues to narrow.”
