City woman accused of hitting another with screwdriver
An Elizabethton investigator says a 42-year-old woman allegedly assaulted another woman with a screwdriver and then fired a weapon outside of a residence.
The Elizabethton Police Department responded to 311 S. Roan St. on the report of shots fired about 11:40 a.m. Monday. Sgt. Christopher Bowers said the investigation revealed Lori Turner, 42, and Mary Hamitt had been engaged in a verbal altercation inside Turner’s residence. Bowers reported that the altercation became physical and both women sustained scratches on their neck. He said Turner had also struck Hamitt in the head twice with a screwdriver.
