Civil service exam date set for deputy applicants
The Civil Service Exam for Carter County deputies will be administered Thursday, Sept. 27, at 6 p.m. in the Commons Area/Cafeteria at Elizabethton High School.
All persons interested in employment at the Carter County Sheriff’s Office are invited to take the exam. Applicants must be a minimum of 21 years old, be bondable and be a citizen of the United States. They must also be a high school graduate or possess its equivalent, possess a valid driver’s license and have never been convicted of a felony or have been dishonorably discharged from the military.
Currently the Carter County Sheriff’s Office is anticipating the hiring of 10 correctional officers, and encourages both females and males to apply.
Applications for employment are available at the Carter County Sheriff’s Office. All applications must be completed and on file at the office no later than Sept. 24 at 4 p.m., in order to be eligible to take the written exam. Applicants must also bring proof of identification.
