Whether it was the two buzzer-beaters to help knock off Science Hill in the Topper Palace, playing a key spot during his team’s run to the Class AA Sectional one year ago or his present role as the senior leader, the evolution of Zeke Clark has been a big part of Elizabethton’s boys basketball program the last four seasons.
The hard work, sweat, tears and battles have paid off for Clark his senior season, but the 1,000-point milestone reached during last week’s loss at Unicoi County signified a basketball game that has come full circle from his days at T.A. Dugger.
“I’ve had some great teammates through here,” Clark said Thursday. “I had that big group of senior guys through here that helped me a lot. I’ve had three different head coaches, but I feel like with each one I keep getting better and they kept adding things to my game. Elizabethton’s been real good to me my four years here and that really helps out a lot.”
