Cloudland played the part of Rip Van Winkle in the first quarter, but awoke as an angry sleeping giant in the second.
The Highlanders came out of their first-quarter lull and pulverized South Greene 70-33 inside of Sonny Smith Gymnasium on Thursday.
They trailed 8-6 after the first eight minutes and had shot a frigid 3-of-12 (25%) from the field. They doubled their shooting percentage in the second quarter 8-of-16 (50%) and led 27-12 at the half.
“We were trying to get back in rhythm, said Cloudland coach Brandon Carpenter. “We’ve had a good week of practice, so we wanted to come out and play well.”
