Cloudland teams subdue Providence

By

JOHNSON CITY — A pre-Christmas victory over North Greene had Providence Academy thinking about an upset over Cloudland on Tuesday night. The Knights will have to re-think that one as the Highlanders forced Providence into an 11-of-43 performance from the floor in a 67-29 victory.
The Lady Highlanders were also victorious and opened the evening with a 65-32 win over the Lady Knights, with senior post Brooke Rhodes dropping in a game-high 20 points.
The Highlanders (15-7 overall) forced 19 turnovers from the Knights as Providence shot just 25.5 percent from the floor, missing several layup attempts and going 3-for-14 from 3-point range.
Senior forward Dylan McClellan scored a game-high 20 points and was 2-for-3 from distance as the ’Landers blew the game open early with a 21-10 first period.
