Winter’s rain and cold have taken their toll not only on county roads, but on some county records.
With rain, snow and cold temperatures halting the ongoing roof renovation project at the Courthouse Annex, some records stored on the top floor of the Courthouse Annex were damaged recently when exposed portions of the roof allowed water to seep in.
Building and Grounds Committee Chairman L.C. Tester updated committee members on the water damage Monday.
“They can’t put roofing back on in this kind of weather,” Tester said. “I’m going to see if they can’t do something to cover it temporarily.”
Tester said the board should discuss a solution because rain is causing trouble.
“Well, they are responsible for the damage aren’t they?” asked Commissioner Ken Arney.
“I would think so,” Tester replied.
