Committee looks ahead at county-wide cleanup events

A number of environmental clean-up events will be held in Carter County this spring, giving the community the opportunity to help clean up the county and their own homes.

The Environmental Committee of the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce discussed these upcoming events during a planning session Wednesday morning. The committee sponsors the hazardous waste cleanup, the county-wide cleanup with free dump days at the Carter County Landfill, the county river and stream cleanup and a Conservation Camp for area fourth-grade students.

Chamber Events and Marketing Coordinator Stephanie McKinney suggested the committee start working to set dates for the events so further planning could begin.
