Sundance Power Systems is offering a free informational workshop on solar energy systems from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Nelson Fine Art Center, 324 E. Main St., Johnson City. The TVA Green Power Providers program will open for applications on Jan. 15. This workshop will cover what you need to know to submit your application to get a solar electric system installed in 2014. A short presentation will cover the many benefits of renewable energy systems and what Federal and utility incentives are available to help reduce costs for home and business owners. The duo Steve and Nancy will perform at 7 p.m. at the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center. This duo will not not only entertain you with their music, but since they are dancers, too, they know the music that is best for dancing and choose their tunes accordingly. Come out and enjoy music from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Line dance lessons will also be taught  from 6:30 to 7 p.m. For more information, call 952-0772. Cost is $6.
