A Sequoyah School Reunion is planned to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the school’s opening in 1972. The reunion will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Elizabethton to commemorate the opening of the school in 1972. The students who attended Sequoyah School came from nine school systems in Upper East Tennessee and North Carolina to receive academic and vocational training as well as physical therapy and speech and hearing services.
