Roan Mountain Lodge No. 566 will hold the county practice at the Lodge Hall. A meal will be served at 6 p.m. and the practice will begin around 7 p.m. All members and visiting brethren are welcome.

Elizabethton High School Class of 1972 will hold a meeting to plan its 40th class reunion at 6 p.m. at the Elizabethton Senior Citizens Center, 428 East G St. The center is located next to the Carter County Health Department. All available classmates are asked to try to attend.

The Al-Anon “Free To Be Me” Family Group will meet at 6 p.m. at the Watauga Baptist Association Building, 3871 Highway 19E, Elizabethton.

The Green Pastures Group of Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 8 p.m. in the Conference Room at Crossroads, 413 East Elk Ave., Elizabethton.

 

Wednesday-June 27

Narcotics Anonymous “Just For Today” group will meet at the Crossroads Building at 8 p.m. Enter through the entrance at the rear of the building.

 

Thursday-June 28

The John Carter Chapter of the DAR will meet at the Elizabethton-Carter County Public Library at noon. There will be a special program on the American Flag.

The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 17 and Auxiliary will hold their monthly meeting at South Side Christian Church Recreation Building on South Side Road. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. with a business meeting to follow at 7 p.m. All members are requested to attend. New officers will be installed at this meeting. The chapter normally meets the second Thursday of each month.

The Buladeen Citizens Center Club, 2819 Highway 91, Stoney Creek, will meet at 7 p.m. The club is still searching for “Stoney Creek Memories,” which can include mementos about schools, ball teams, churches, people and much more. Members are especially looking for pictures and information relating to the former Midway School on Stoney Creek. The club’s members hope to start putting a DVD together soon. Your help would be greatly appreciated. The Roan Mountain 12-Step Group of Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 7 p.m. at Magill Presbyterian Church, 296 Highway 143, Roan Mountain.

 

Friday-June 29

The Unaka High School Class of 1956 will hold its annual get-together at 4:30 p.m. at Dino’s Restaurant in Elizabethton. For more information, call Lula Childers at 542-4858.

Southern Countrymen Band will perform from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at The Outdoorsman on Stone Drive in Kingsport. Admission is $5. For more information, call Daryl Goodman at 943-5600.

Saturday-June 30

Dashiell Lodge No. 238 will hold a Country Breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Adults eat for $5 and children under 12 for $3. Carryout will be available. The lodge is located at 410 E. Doe Ave., Elizabethton.

Alcoholics Anonymous 12-Step Closed Meeting will be held at 2 p.m. at Crossroads, 413 East Elk Ave., Elizabethton.

 

Sunday-July 1

The Rasnick Family Reunion will be held from noon to 5 p.m. at the Rotary Pavilion on Riverside Drive across from Tetrick Funeral Home. Come join the fun and bring a covered dish to share.
