The Buladeen Citizens Center Club, 2819 Highway 91, Stoney Creek, will meet at 6:30 p.m. The club is still searching for “Stoney Creek Memories,” which can include mementos about schools, ball teams, churches, people and much more. Members are especially looking for pictures and information relating to the former Midway School on Stoney Creek. The Green Pastures Group of Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 8 p.m. in the Conference Room at Crossroads, 413 East Elk Ave., Elizabethton.

 

SaturdayDec. 1

“Pancakes for Pets” will be held at Fatz Cafe, Elizabethton, from 8 to 10 a.m. For $7, attendees can enjoy a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, fruit cup, coffee or juice. Add $1 for milk. Takeout will be available. Proceeds will benefit East Tennessee Spay and Neuter’s local programs to keep pets healthy and out of the shelter.

Alcoholics Anonymous 12-Step Closed Meeting will be held at 2 p.m. at Crossroads, 413 E. Elk Ave., Elizabethton.

Narcotics Anonymous “Just For Today” group will meet at the Crossroads Building at 12:15 p.m. Enter through the entrance at the rear of the building.

Borderline will perform from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Buffalo Ruritan Club in Bluff City. Admission is $5.

 

SundayDec. 2

Elizabethton Elks Lodge No. 1847 will hold its annual Memorial Service at 2 p.m. to honor departed members. All widows of deceased members are cordially invited. The service is also open to the public. The lodge is located at 1000 N. Sycamore St., Elizabethton.

MondayDec. 3

The GFWC of Elizabethton Woman’s Club will meet at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church for its annual covered dish meal and yankee swap. All members are asked to bring a covered dish and a gift for the swap.

Take Off Pounds Sensibly, or TOPS, will meet at Eastside Freewill Baptist Church, 704 Siam Road, Elizabethton, on Mondays with weighing in from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. Meeting begins at 6 p.m. For more information, call 213-2770.

TuesdayDec. 4

The American Legion Watauga Post No. 49 and The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, located at the corner of Watauga and G Street, will be holding their monthly meeting. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. and the Post Meeting will follow at 7 p.m. First-time non-member veterans will have dinner for free courtesy of the Legion.

The Carter County Democratic Party and the Carter County Democratic Women will hold their Christmas party at 6 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church on “F” Street in Elizabethton. This is a pot luck dinner party and all Democrats are invited from young to young-at-heart. A special invitation goes out to Democrat friends in Butler and Roan Mountain. Hampton Lodge No. 750 will hold a stated meeting at 7 p.m. All members are encouraged to attend. Election of 2013 officers will be held. Visitors are always welcome.
